During Tuesday’s meeting of the Custer County Commissioners an upcoming leadership workshop was discussed.

Tracy Baker, the executive director for the Miles City Area Economic Development Council (MCAEDC), presented what information she currently had on the Leading Local, Board Leadership and Management workshop.

The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Miles Community College in room 106 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $25.

The event will work with current and prospective members of boards, committees and councils.

Commissioner Keith Holmlund expressed his approval during Tuesday’s meeting saying that he believes that this workshop will be beneficial for all local board members.

According to Baker, she has been dropping off fliers to almost everyone she runs into.

The workshop will feature Dan Clark from Bozeman as the main speaker.

Clark works with the MSU Extension Office and has previously spoken at leadership events in Miles City.

The workshop will cover topics like effective meetings, engaging board members and vision statements.

The workshop is being put on by the MSU Extension Local Government Center and is sponsored by Stockman Bank, Mid-Rivers Communication, First Interstate Bank and MCAEDC.
