WMS teams rate high at competition

Washington Middle School students who participated in the Junior Division of the Academic Olympics competition on Tuesday, March 6, at Miles Community College received high ratings. Two teams of students from Washington Middle School received high ratings during the junior division competition of the Academic Olympics held recently in Miles City. The annual event was held on Tuesday, March 6, at Miles Community College, according to a news release from WMS.

Team B of WMS students placed 1st in the written competition and 2nd in the oral rounds. Team A students from WMS received 2nd place in the written round and 3rd in the oral rounds.

Seventh grade placings for WMS students in the written test were Joe Giddis, 1st; Hayes Hansen, 3rd; Payton Kuntz, 4th; Claire Kychynka, 5th; and Rylee Anderson and Joelle Evans, tie for 6th place.

Placings in the written test for eighth grade WMS students were Kailey Brimmer and Thomas Vermeire, tie for 2nd; Lauren Treu, 4th; Henry Dalton, 5th; and Dalton Tvedt, 6th.
