Toennis, Tsirigotis united in marriage

Autumn Marie Toennis and Nikitas Alexander Tsirigotis exchanged marriage vows during an afternoon ceremony in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City. They were married on Oct. 5, 2019, and recently celebrated their first anniversary.

Parents of the bride are Mark and Sandi Toennis of Miles City. Stella Marinakos of Berwick, Pennsylvania, and Alexander and Rena Tsirigotis of Rockville, Maryland, are the groom’s parents.

Officiating at the ceremony was Fr. Garrett Nelson, cousin of the bride. Matthew Nelson, the bride’s cousin, was the reader. Music was by Marie Layton, Mary Wambolt and Kassidy Rispens.

Shelby Huber, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Jones; Paige Vincent; Charlie Allison; Kelsey Weyerbacher; Megan Toennis, the bride’s sister-in-law; and Emily Toennis and Katlyn Toennis, cousins of the bride. Flowergirls were Blakely Nelson and Ellie Toennis.

John Tsirigotis, the groom’s brother, was best man. Groomsmen were Vance Vincent, Eric Hoff, Scott Rosetto, Nick Gensel and Josh Toennis, the bride’s brother. Ringbrarers were Zavier Allison and Grayson Huber.

Daniel Nelson and Jake Toennis, the bride’s cousins, and Billy Lowe were the ushers.

A reception with dinner and dancing followed the wedding ceremony.

The bride graduated from Custer County District High School in Miles City in 2010 and from Montana State University in Bozeman in 2014 with a degree in English Writing.

A 2004 graduate of Berwick Area High School in Berwick, Pennsylvania, the groom graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, in 2009 with a degree in chemistry and a minor in classics.

After a wedding trip to the Hudson River Valley in upstate New York the couple is residing in Brooklyn, New York. They are pursuing careers in New York City.
