Stanley Carlson

Stanley Carlson left us to be present with our Lord on Friday, May 26, 2017.

He was born to Vernon and Caroll Carlson at Seattle, WA on August 30, 1957. He joined his twin brother, Steven Carlson (Brenda Helms) of Wichita, KS and five other children; Paula (Rodney) Cohenour of El Dorado, KS,  David Carlson of Miles City, MT, Caroll Carlson of Dickinson, ND, Keith Carlson (Shelley) of Sidney, MT and Mary (Kevin) Johnson of Miles City, MT.

Stanley grew up like most kids building box cars and bike ramps and fishing. He was an excellent chess player and always liked a challenge.

In June 1972, the Carlson family moved to Miles City where Stanley graduated with the class of ’76 from Custer County High School. During his High School years he enjoyed hanging out with his friends fishing, riding horse, ice-skating and tinkering with his brother,  Steven on cars.

In 1979 he left home for basic training with the Coast Guard but returned home with an honorable discharge within that same year.

Stanley worked a few summers for the city operating a Bush Hog mowing down the tall grasses along the railroad tracks and open lots in Miles City. He was talented in painting and picked up work independently that included p painting the Miles City Star building. He was most proud of getting his Masonry certificate.

Stanley had a contagious laugh and loved the outdoors and barbeques. He will be remembered fondly by those that knew him best.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gone on before him are his parents and grandparents.

There will be no services and he will be honored by his family members in Kansas and Miles City.
