The couple married on July 14, 1947 and moved to the family ranch in Arlington, CO. In 1968 the couple took their family and moved to the Miles City area. Bill worked as foreman on the Mizpah ranch. Later the couple moved to town where Bill worked at Ft. Keogh and Shirley worked at the VA Medical Center.

In 1991 Bill retired from Ft. Keogh and Shirley retired from the VA in 1995. In retirement Bill and Shirley became “snow birds” and spend several winters in Texas. The couple loved to square dance and traveled the state doing what they loved. Their latest adventure was roaming the hills around Miles City or the mountains in Nye, MT in their side-by-side ATV.

The couple is survived by their three daughters, Charlotte (Jim) Horton of Park City, MT, Judy (Lynn) Strobel and Linda (Don) Hall, both from Miles City, MT, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and a family service “celebrating” their life will be held at a later date.
