Mother’s Day horse races a success

The Mother’s Day horse races were quite a hit. The temps were good and the horses were fast on this yearly tradition.

The first post time of the day was set at 1 p.m. with the first Bucking Horse Sale Quarter Horse Futurity Trials. The winner of the race was Dustin Little Girl, beating Taste of Cayenne at the end.

The second Futurity Trial posted at 1:25 and the winner was Jerrys Scooter. The third was at 1:50 with Eyes Special Shadow coming across in first place.

The last Futurity Trial was at 2:15 and Musical Jess was best from the gate.

The fifth race of the day kicked off the Dan Lockie Quarter Horse Derby Trials, with a post time of 2:40. Barely a Secret crossed the finish line first.

The second Derby Trials race was taken by Mags Rambling Moon, while the third had Swinging Brew crossing the line first.

The last Quarter Horse Trials was won by My Tuff Moon with a 3:55 post time.

The final race of the day was the Wacker Agency/Eastern Montana Title with a $3,000 purse given to the winner. Playing for Keeps managed to earn the award Sunday, just edging out Raised to War.
