MLB postseason outlook

The second round of Major League Baseball’s (MLB) 2020 post season is underway, with all eight remaining teams playing at neutral-site locations.

The American League Division Series (ALDS) between the Houston Astros and the Oakland Athletics (A’s) will be played in Los Angles, California; the ALDS between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays will be played in San Diego, California; the National League Division Series (NLDS) between the Atlanta Braves and the Miami Marlins will be played in Houston, Texas; and the NLDS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres will be played in Arlington, Texas.

The winners of the divisional series move on to the conference series and are one series win away from the World Series.

The first two games of the ALDS were played on Monday; with the Astros beating the A’s, 10-5, and Yankees beating the Rays, 9-3.

Both the ALDS and the NLDS are best-of-five series.

Yesterday the NLDS game one’s were played; with the Braves beating the Marlins, 9-5, and the Dodgers beating the Padres, 5-1.

The second games of the ALDS were also played yesterday; with the Astros taking a 2-0 lead against the Athletics with a 5-2 win, and the Rays evening the series at 1-1 with a 7-5 win over the Yankees.

All four series are scheduled to be played today. Braves, Marlins game two is scheduled for 2p.m. on the MLB Network; Athletics, Astros game three is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on TBS; Yankees, Rays is scheduled for 7 p.m. on TBS; and Dodgers, Padres i scheduled for 9 p.m. on FS1.

Astros, Athletics game three is the only potential close out game of the four. With a win, the Astros will advance to the American League Conference Series (ALCS) for the fourth year in a row.
