As Christmas quickly approaches the Miles City Elks Lodge is organizing their 82nd Annual Elks Radio Auction.

The auction will begin Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Fireside Room in the Elk’s Lodge. It will run until 10 p.m. on Dec. 16. People can attend in person or listen to KATL Radio, KIKI Radio or KMCM Radio and call in bids on the donated items. There is also discussion to live stream the auction on a platform such as Facebook.

According to Lucille Ronning, they sent out a lot of letters asking for donations. Because the Elks is a 501(c) Non-Profit, all donations are tax deductible, even five to 10 dollars worth of donations. She said that they have received 55 entries; this is including donations from Forsyth. She also stated that they are in search of new members to join the Miles City Elks Lodge.

“It has been a tough time for the state and the overall country but we were successful with donations from businesses in Miles City and Forsyth,” said Gene Bankey.

He also said that while some businesses were unable to donate items due to the COVID-19 virus, they had many of the same businesses donated, as well as some new ones.

Some of these items include a five-gallon bucket of Chevron 15w-40 oil, Apple Crown Royal goodies basket, Milwaukee Circular Saw, a Sleep Smart Orthopedic Cervical Pillow and many more items. Items can be viewed on their Facebook Miles City Elks Lodge #537, or will be on display at the Elks Lodge on 619 Pleasant St.

The phone numbers to call in a bid are 406-232-0671 or the Elks Lodge phone is 406- 232-8911.
