Lady Pioneer’s sign Emily Bergum

Miles Community College head basketball coach Liz Lewis has announced the signing of Emily Marie Bergum, from Roberts, Montana for the 2016-2017 season.

Emily Bergum-5’9”- G, Roy, Montana, Roy High School

 Emily is the daughter of Kraig and Ann Bergum and is a 2016 graduate of Roy High School. While at Roy, Bergum was on the Honor Roll for all four years, she was a part of the National Honor Society, and Emily was a Chapter Officer in the FFA club. Emily earned 10 varsity letters in basketball, volleyball, and track. She played basketball under head coach Marietta Boyce.

 Emily was named to 1st Team All conference in her first 3 years and 2nd Team All conference her senior year. She was an All State Selection from her sophomore year to her senior year, and Bergum was a Team Captain her junior and senior year. In the 2016 season, Emily averaged 14 PPG, she shot 42% from 3-pt. range, and shot 40% from the field. Bergum finished the season with 80 steals, 51 assists, and 108 rebounds, while leading her team to a 3rd place finish at divisional.

While at MCC, Bergum plans to work towards her Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology.

 On why Bergum chose MCC: “I chose Miles Community College, because I like how small and tight the community is.”

Coach Lewis on the signing of Emily Bergum : “”Emily is an outstanding three point shooter. She has the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter and will be a solid threat from the outside. Emily also brings great length to the court and has the potential to make a defensive impact. We look forward to adding a young lady of her caliber to our lineup. “
