Kim Schneider, Alyssa Shawvery and Ashley Ingraham took time from their busy summers to paint the outside mural at Jefferson.

The biggest project at Jefferson Elementary School this summer was the roofing project.

The district was able to replace half of the roof at Jefferson and hopes to replace the other half next year.

“That’s really huge,” said Principal Sara Lucero.

Another big project at Jefferson was some work done on the playground.

Other than the usual maintenance the school also painted a mural on one wall and then painted different types of outside games on others.

Inside the school received some new paint and a good cleaning.

The only handbook update was an addition to the tardy policy, said Lucero. The new policy requires the parents to escort their child inside if they are late.

“I’m excited to see the kiddos faces, watch them grow. I love the family atmosphere here; my teachers go above and beyond,” Lucero said.
