Coyote crashes convention

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A coyote sprinted past a security checkpoint and into a Nashville convention center where a boat show was packing up Sunday night. According to the Music City Center, the coyote entered through a loading area and ran into an exhibit hall before staff trapped it in a bathroom. Animal control officers captured the animal, which was released in a wooded area. Metro Animal Care and Control Director Lauren Bluestone said coyote encounters are becoming more common in Nashville as the city expands. Bluestone said, "I don't want to say coyotes in bathrooms are going to become the norm, but because of intrusion into their habitat, it's going to be close living."

Man finds boa under car’s hood

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man got a slithery shock when he popped open the hood of his car and found a boa constrictor resting on the engine. Ernst Dimanche tells WSVN he had just dropped his kids off at school Friday and came home to work on his Cadillac. He says he saw the snake and “just went crazy.” The Miami Gardens man says he called animal control but they would charge $300 to help. Instead his neighbor, Demetri Giddings, pulled the snake out of the car with a hanger.

Michael Flynn, Sean Spicer become neighbors in RI

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (AP) — Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer has bought a house in Rhode Island, and his new neighbor is a familiar face from their days together in the Trump administration: former national security adviser Michael Flynn. The Newport Daily News, citing public records, reported that the sale closed Jan. 2, and Spicer paid $795,000 for the 1,800-square-foot Middletown home, which has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Representatives for Spicer did not immediately return messages seeking comment. The house is across the street and three doors down from Flynn’s home, in a neighborhood that’s a short walk to the beach. Flynn is awaiting sentencing on his guilty plea to lying to the FBI about his Russian contacts. Spicer grew up in nearby Barrington.
