HS golf: Swigart's 83 paces 3rd-place Cowgirls

The Custer County District High School girls golf team placed third and the boys team was fourth in Friday’s invitational at Hardin.
The girls totaled 405, based on the best four of the team’s five individual scores. Sidney won with a team score of 350, followed by Fergus County of Lewistown at 392. Laurel was fourth at 420.
Tierney Messmer had a 78 and teammate Kaelyn Volk carded a 79 as Sidney finished one-two individually. They were followed by Lewistown’s Kinsey Irvin with an 81 and Miles City’s Ashtyn Swigart with an 83.
Other CCDHS scores: Chancy LaPointe, 105; Amber Taylor, 107; McKenzie Taylor and Allie Wagner, both 110.
Billings Central won the boys title with a team score of 305, followed by Laurel at 316, Park County 325, Miles City 356, Sidney 362, Hardin 366, Fergus 385 and Glendive 387.
Laurel’s Paul O’Neil was the individual winner with an impressive 69. Billings Central freshman Nick Pasquarello was next with a 71 and teammate Liam Clancey had a 74 to tie for third with Hardin’s Tristan Belue.
Nick Anderson led CCDHS with an 82, followed by Derek Schneidt with an 83, Joel Christopherson, 92; Garrett Jones, 99; and Ryan Gardner, 109.
Next on the schedule is an invitational on Friday at Glendive starting at 9 a.m.
