Torrential rain and hail hit Miles City at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, flooding streets and causing minor damage to vehicles in some areas. The usual streets flooded, including the underpass on Main Street, top right, and Dickinson Street, top left, where the driver of a truck was prepared if the water kept rising. About three inches of rain fell in an hour, as shown in the rain gauge at left. Hail bigger than silver dollars fell outside the home of Star photographer Sharon Moore, who brought out a ruler for a photo illustration .
