A large crowd filled the Kailey Gymnasium on the MIles Community College Campus on Dec. 29 for Erin’s Crystal Ball, an annual fundraiser for the Erin’s Hope Project. The event raises money to allow children with life-threatening illnesses to take outdoors vacations with their families. Pam and Ron Hurr share memories of their daughter Erin, for whom the charity is named. Erin, who died of a childhood illness, would have been a senior in high school this year. Some of her classmates attended the event, and a video was shown where they recalled some of their memories of Erin.
