What’s Happening

Christmas Tree of Remembrance Service on Tuesday — A Christmas Tree of Remembrance Service, sponsored by Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home, will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. in The Parlor at 1806 Main St. This service is designed for those who are grieving for a family member of friend to remember their loved ones in a special way, according to a news release from the funeral home. There will be a short service, followed by refreshments. Individuals attending the service may bring an ornament with their loved one’s name, birth and death dates. These decorations will be placed on a tree in The Parlor. After the service, those who wish may take their ornaments home with them or they can leave them on the tree during the holiday season. Anyone who cannot attend the service, may leave an ornament at the funeral home to be placed on the tree. For more information contact the funeral home at 232-4457.

Milk and Cookies with Santa on Tuesday — Santa will visit Holy Rosary Healthcare (HRH) on Tuesday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the main lobby. According to a news release from HRH, children and adults may join the the group for Milk and Cookies with Santa while he makes his list and checks it twice for good girls and boys. The event is open to the public, free of charge. For more information call 233-2600.

Christmas Stroll tonight — Christmas Stroll activities are tonight from 5-8 around Miles City. Many of the Miles City stores will be open until 8 p.m. so shoppers can make purchases for the holiday season, according to a news release from the Miles City Area Chamber of Commerce. Numerous events are planned throughout the evening and vendors will be located along Main Street. The stroll also includes horse-drawn and vehicle-pulled wagon rides, caroling and Santa will be attending some of the activities.

The Compassionate Friends to meet — The Compassionate Friends, a support group for families who have lost a child, will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in The Parlor at 1804 Main St., according to a news release from the group.

Congregate Meals

Senior Congregate Meals for anyone more than 60 years of age will be served at the Miles City Town and Country Club on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to noon. Join the group there for great meals and visiting with friends. There is no specific charge for the meals. Participants may donate as they are able.

Following are the meals to be served next week.

Monday — Chef’s Choice.

Wednesday — Taco nacho bar, Spanish Rice, salad bar and dessert. 

Friday — Beef Stroganoff, veggie and salad bar.

Seniors may choose chicken strips as an alternative on request.

Miles City Soup Kitchen

The Custer County Community Table’s Miles City Soup Kitchen is located in the VA Center at 210 S. Winchester Ave. (use the front entrance by the United State flag at the VA Building). Soup/meals are served Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. More information is available by calling 234-5013.

Anyone can make arrangements to volunteer or to have donations picked up by calling the soup kitchen at 234-5013 weekdays between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Checks may be sent to P.O. Box 93, Miles City, MT 59301. All meals are served with bread, salad, a beverage and dessert if available. The menu is subject to change.
