The Dawson Community Airport in Glendive will receive a $122,040 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Sen. Steve Daines (R-Montana) announced in a news release last week.

The money will be used to design a 2,700-square-foot terminal expansion at the airport to “improve the efficiency of operations and meet passenger needs,” the news release noted.

A wind come navigational aid will also be purchased and installed to “improve safety and provide pilots with critical airfield information,” the news release said.

The grant was among $5,024,695 in money for Montana Airports announced by Daines last week.

Other airports receiving money included Billings Logan International Airport: )$1,573,454); Glacier Park International Airport ($2 million) and Bert Mooney Airport in Butte $1,329,201).

“Montana airports play a critical role in our communities,” Daines stated. “This funding will make a big difference in keeping our airports in good shape for current and future use.”
