Star Staff

Junior deSouza, a former professional soccer player and Christian speaker, will bring his ministry to the First Baptist Church on Thursday evening.

His presentation will begin at 7 p.m. and is open to the public. The church is located at 900 Palmer St. A free will offering will be taken.

This is a return trip to Miles City for deSouza, who spoke at the First Baptist Church in March.

According to a news release from First Baptist Church, when deSouza was in his teens he traveled overseas to play soccer, winning the Most Valuable Player award in a French tournament. By the time he was 19, he had signed his first full pro contract with Coicochea in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Well-mentored by several older Christians, he began his ministry at age 17. By his mid-20s, deSouza was a sought after speaker for churches and Christian organizations across the Southeast United States.

He has pastored two Southern Baptist congregations and a non-denominational church plant and is certified as a Biblical counselor. More information about deSouza, may be found at his website at

In addition to preaching and soccer, deSouza fulfilled his lifelong passion of fitness modeling. He believes the physical body should be maximized in appreciation for the Creator who designed it and weaves this message into his ministry, using  any and all resources that are in harmony with God’s word.
