Charles Terrace Meier

Charles Terrace Meier, age 58, of Miles City passed away Friday morning, November 25, 2016 at his home in Miles City after a heart attack.

Charles, better known to his friends and family as Charlie, was born in Valley City, ND on January 25, 1958, the son of Charles Henry and Mary Lou (Motz) Meier. At the age of 13, he moved with his family to Lewistown, MT where he graduated high school.

In 1976, Charlie started working for Gypsum Mining in Lewistown, where he worked for several years. In 1977, he married Nina Mundy and had two sons, Brian and Jason. In 1981, he joined the Army National Guard. In 1987, he married Beth Pyette, with whom he had his daughter Carly and son Jacob. He later moved to Miles City, MT and starting working at Pine Hills Youth Correctional Facility. He held multiple certifications for his past work positions from CPR to Crisis Intervention. In 1996, he married Hsueh Ping Ko and moved to Spokane Washington. He later moved back to Miles City and worked for Pine Hills for over 15 years, until he retired.

Charlie was known to his family as a man with a smile, laugh and sense of humor. He enjoyed playing games with Family and friends, especially pinochle and other games of chance. He also enjoyed outdoor recreation and four-wheeling.

Charlie is survived by his children Jason B. Meier of Missoula, MT; Carly C. Friede of Havre, MT; Jacob E. Holmes of Missoula, MT; his sister Charlene Bleth of Dickinson, ND; grandchildren Brennan Meier of Medford, OR; Andrew Burns of Missoula, MT; Will Meier of Missoula, MT; Zack and Reid Friede of Havre, MT; and Melody Holmes of Havre, MT, many nieces and nephews: Michael Mundy, Corey Mundy, Mandy Roldan, Brandon Roldan, Tomas Roldan, Chris Haider, Robert Haider, Annie Haider, Jennifer La Flam, Amber Nielson, Nathaniel Bunke and Rachel Bunke.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Henry Meier and Mary Lou Meier, his son Brian Meier, his sisters Cheryl Meier Roldan and Coleen Meier Bunke.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Condolences may  be sent to the family by visiting:  www.stevensonandsons.com.
