4th Place

Garrett Jones, Custer County Reserve Champion Steer: Angus cross named Johnny Ringo Future plans: Attend MSU Bozeman for agriculture business Enjoys hunting, golfing and livestock judging

5th Place

Kreed Eskew, Rosebud County Grand Champion Steer: Simmental/angus cross named Chomper Future plans: Looks forward to new activities in high school Enjoys basketball, business, track and FFA

6th Place

Grayson Artion, Powder River County Reserve Champion Steer: Maine/Angus cross named Bellar Future plans: keep going to school and “bettering myself in showing livestock.” Enjoys football and family.

7th Place

Royce Tooke, Carter County Reserve Champion Steer: Angus named Super Puncher Age: 15 Enjoys roping, farming and ranching, anything but being inside a classroom.

8th Place

Blain Murnion, Garfield County Reserve Champion Steer: Gelbvieh/Angus cross named Curly Future plans: continue with their breeding project and bring another market steer to the fair next year. Enjoys hunting, fishing and trapping with Grandpa.

9th Place

Andrea Hopf, Rosebud County Reserve Champion Steer: Red Angus Future plans: go to college to be a doctor. Enjoys basketball and volleyball as well as helping with calving and farrowing.

10th Place

Kateri Stroh, Garfield County Grand Champion Steer: Angus Future plans: Move to Nashville and be a singer/ songwriter. Other projects: cake decorating and swine.

11th Place

Ryley Bice, Custer County Grand Champion Steer: Charolais cross named Vince Future plans: Go to Wyoming and pursue an education in the agriculture industry. Enjoys FFA, livestock judging and working calves in the feedlot.

12th Place

Jaxon Bilbrey, Powder River County Champion Steer: Simmental cross Future plans: Go to college or mechanics and return home to live on his great grandparents ranch. Enjoys football, basketball, track and golf.

13th Place

Max Eaton, Prairie County Grand Champion Steer: Charolais cross named Hoss Future plans: Attend MSU to study agriculture and hopefully play football. Enjoys FFA, judging team, sports and youth group.

14th Place

Molly Eaton, Prairie County Reserve Champion Steer: Charolais/Angus cross Future plans: Major in pre-med then go to medical school and hopefully play college softball. Enjoys sports, shopping and traveling.  

The participants steers were also ultrasounded to determine carcass quality as well as other traits such as ribeye area, percent of intramuscular fat and percent of back fat. The Champion of Champions were also placed first through fourteenth based on ultrasound results. Those placings are as follows:

The winners of the carcass judging contest were Shannon Brence of Miles City with first place and second place is Heather LaBree of Ekalaka.
