Hogan Family Dental at 1820 Valley Drive East will host the 10th annual Cash for Candy on Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Children may bring in any excess Halloween candy and in exchange the staff will give each participant $1 per pound of candy and a free toothbrush.

Additionally, each child who donates candy will be entered to win a grand prize of a Lego® set.

Children are invited to hold back their “favorites” and bring the remainder of their Halloween candy to the office at Hogan Family Dental. Each candy donation will be sent overseas to our military personnel courtesy of the Kinsey 4-H Club members as a token of our love and gratitude — a welcome treat from home.

Doctors Eric and Robin Hogan want to encourage the fun of dressing up and “Trick-or-Treating,” while simultaneously encouraging moderation with sugar consumption. Global sugar consumption for children increases 2 percent annually and currently sits at 50 million tons per year.

“Our goal is to increase public awareness regarding the importance of minimizing sugar consumption and to promote the benefits of healthy eating and excellent oral hygiene,” said Dr. Robin Hogan. “We invite you to join us to brighten the day of an American hero while teaching children powerful concepts regarding oral health.”
