Many gardens in Miles City are producing fruits and vegetables. Canning is a good way to preserve any extra fresh foods.

The Custer County Extension Office is offering two canning workshops on Tuesday, Aug. 8, in the First Presbyterian Church. The first, about hot water bath, is at 2 p.m. and the second, about pressure canning, is at 5:30 p.m. To register for the classes call the Custer County Extension Office in the courthouse at 874-3370.

The cost for each class is $15 per person or $25 for both classes. Instructor for the classes will be Denise Seilstad, Fergus County Extension agent.
