The 24th SE Montana Relay For Life Survivor Dinner was a huge success and the Relay For Life Committee wants to share our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed in any way in putting together this event!

The Range Riders, once again, provided the perfect place for us to host the survivors and their guests. The First Baptist Church (and many helpers) donated, prepared and served the fantastic dinner with the help of donations from Pizza Hut, Holy Rosary Healthcare and many members of our community. Walmart donated the “Birthday Cake” dedicated to all the birthdays that our survivors have celebrated! Dayna, Pattie and the staff set up and manned the dessert and drink tables. They also donated individual gift bags for each of the survivors.

The Miles Community College Volleyball team and their coach, Chase Soennichsen, were “co-hosts” of the event helping with greeting, serving and cleanup! It was wonderful to get to meet them and we look forward to watching them play! Dave & Shirley Swogger and the local Boy Scouts were also there to help with filling and setting out our luminaria bags, many which were hand decorated by Joyce Vera’s ROCKS kids.

Pastor Jerry Collins started off the evening with a special blessing and reflection. Our survivors and guests were entertained by Phil Smith whose beautiful rendition of Guy Clark’s “The Cape” was the perfect song to follow up our survivor speaker, Heidi Zentz. Heidi’s message of courage and hope was not only inspirational but also offered sincere advice to everyone.

Deb Smith’s “Gone to Seed” flower arrangements were one of a kind gifts for the longest survivor at each table! Balloons from Creative Corners added to the colorful decorations!

Shannon Holman helped us capture the event on film. Be sure to check out our Facebook page to see the pictures from the evening. Thanks, too, to Denise Hartse, Sharon Moore and the MC Star for all the fantastic coverage of the event.

Our biggest “thank you” goes to the survivors and their guests who attended the evening. You all remind us of why we continue to take time to honor and celebrate our cancer survivors and we look forward to seeing you at the 2020 Survivor Dinner!
