Students at WMS named to honor roll

One hundred and thirtyseven students at Washington Middle School (WMS) were listed on the 3rd quarter honor roll for the 2017-2018 school year.

WMS teams rate high at competition

Two teams of students from Washington Middle School received high ratings during the junior division competition of the Academic Olympics held recently in Miles City. The annual event was held on Tuesday, March 6, at Miles Community College, according to a news release from WMS.

Team B of WMS students placed 1st in the written competition and 2nd in the oral rounds. Team A students from WMS received 2nd place in the written round and 3rd in the oral rounds.

Head Start recruiting children for next year

Head Start is recruiting families of children who are 3 or 4 years of age by Monday, Sept. 10, for the coming school year.

Services offered at no cost to income eligible families include educational activities; medical, dental, vision and hearing screenings; healthy breakfast and lunch; safe indoor and outdoor play; and assistance to meet family needs through local supportive programs according to a news release from Head Start.

Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities.

Kindergarten registration is April 12-April 13

All breakfasts are served with Grade A milk. Monday — No school — Easter break. Tuesday — Bagel and cream cheese, string cheese and grapes. Wednesday — Donut holes, Wheat Thins and fruit cup. Thursday — Muffin, string cheese and banana. Friday — Nutri-grain bar, Go-Gurt and applesauce.

Montana students named to MSU fall semester honor rolls

Montana State University in Bozeman has announced its undergraduate honor rolls for fall semester 2017.

There are two MSU honor roll lists, the President’s Honor Roll and the Dean’s Honor Roll, according to a MSU News Service release. A student must complete a minimum of 12 degree-eligible credit hours to be on either list.

Students with a perfect 4.0 (straight A) grade point average for the semester were named to the President’s Honor Roll. A total of 1,120 MSU students were listed on the MSU fall semester President’s Honor Roll.
