One of the things I love about doing Stardust is not just reading the old news but reading the old advertisements in the newspapers. I especially love ads for the movies.
Once they were invented, of course.
One hundred years ago, William S. Hart was starring in “Wolves of the Rail,” which he also directed. It was showing at the Liberty Theatre. You could also enjoy a “pictograph” and animated cartoon. I think the pictograph was still pictures with titles slide, probably a precursor of the mid-20th century newsreel or travelogue.
