Due to a frigid Arctic weather front predicted to move into the Miles City area this week and lasting into the weekend, many of this year’s Christmas Stroll activities are being rescheduled to Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13-14.
The 2013 Christmas Stroll was originally scheduled for Friday evening, Dec. 6, and any vendors who wish to set up in downtown Miles City may still do so. Several stores will be open until 8 p.m. on Dec. 6.
The community Christmas trees in front of The Smile Center and Veterans Memorial Park, both on Main Street, will be lit this week without official ceremonies.
According to Terri Newby, executive assistant of the Miles City Area Chamber of Commerce, the official time for the Christmas Stroll will be Saturday, Dec. 14, from 1 to 4 p.m. The Stevensons’ Clydesdales will be giving horse-drawn wagon rides on Main Street and vendors are invited to set up booths in front of stores at that time. Some stores also may stay open until 8 on Friday night, Dec. 13, and vendors also are invited to set up their booths that evening if they wish.
Vendors who want to set up their booths either this Friday or on Dec. 13 or 14 (from 1-4 p.m. Saturday) should call the store where they want to set up to make arrangements with the owner or manager.
More information about the Christmas Stroll is available from the Miles City Area Chamber of Commerce at 511 Pleasant St. or call 234-2890.
