Nancy Rae Tupa
Nancy Rae Tupa, 69, Mandan, passed away December 25, 2013, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 30, 2013, at St. Joseph`s Catholic Church, Mandan. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
Nancy was born February 3, 1944, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to John and Loretta (Lacey) Schmisek. She was raised and educated in Grand Forks, graduating from St. James’s Catholic High School, Grand Forks.
On August 27, 1966, she married Clarence Tupa and together have three daughters. She was a dedicated wife and mother who was always there for her family. She enjoyed being in the Girl Scouts as a member, leader, and was the “Cookie Chairman” for a number of years.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Clarence, Mandan; three daughters, Jean Tupa, Belleville, Illinois, June (Shannon) Breeding, Richmond, Virginia, and Kerri (Todd) Friesz, Mandan; two sisters, Maureen (Ken) Schultz, Northridge, California, and Peggy (Dan) Buckmeier, Bismarck; three brothers, John (Wanda) Schmisek, Bill (Gail) Schmisek, all of Grand Forks, and Jerry (Daniela) Schmisek, Fountain, Colorado; two grandchildren, Colton and Katelyn Friesz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Loretta Meyer.
