Man killed at rail crossing
On Sunday morning a Miles City man was apparently the victim of a train-pedestrian accident at the Fourth Street rail crossing.
According to Custer County Sheriff Tony Harbaugh, authorities received a call around 6 a.m. that it appeared there was a body on the railroad tracks.
Miles City Police, Miles City Fire & Rescue and Custer County Sheriff’s Office responded and confirmed the report.
Fifty-year-old George Kuper of Miles City was declared dead at the scene by the sheriff’s/coroner’s department, Harbaugh said.
Arrangements were made for transportation to the funeral home for further examination.
Harbaugh said officials are still waiting for some further results from autopsy to make a determination as to what happened.
