Local man dies in rollover early Thursday
Name not released by presstime
A 27-year-old Miles City man was killed early Thursday morning in a one-vehicle accident near Worden, northwest of Billings.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 2:20 a.m. in Yellowstone County. Alcohol was a factor. Speed and road conditions were not. The man was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, but had died by the time emergency personnel reached the scene.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol Command Center, the vehicle was traveling westbound on US 312, when it drifted off the right side of the roadway. As the driver overcorrected back on to the paved portion of the highway, the vehicle went into a slide. It then traveled off the left side of the road, rolling multiple times and coming to rest on its roof.
The victim’s name was being withheld until the notification of family members.
