Frances Leila Zeibarth


Frances Leila Ziebarth, 90, of Miles City died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at the Holy Rosary Healthcare Center in Miles City.

She was born in Taylor, N.D., on Dec. 17, 1923, the daughter of Otto Hilmer and Rosalie Elizabeth Gribneau Myran. She attended schools in Miles City where she graduated from high school in 1943.

Following graduation, she helped drive milk truck and took care of her siblings. 

She and Francis Ziebarth were married on Jan. 16, 1946, in Miles City. They moved to Seattle, Wash., for six months until they moved back to Montana. She worked various jobs over the years including janitorial jobs at Mountain Bell, but her main priority was taking care of her children.

Mrs. Ziebarth enjoyed bowling, embroidery, sewing, playing solitaire on the computer, cross word puzzles, taking fishing trips to Canada and camping with her family. She most of all enjoyed time spent with her family.

Her survivors include her children: Bill (Cheryl) Ziebarth of Kinsey, Judy (Leo) Billing of Crow Rock, Joyce Stroh of Albany, Ore., Bruce (Kathy) Ziebarth of Miles City and Sally Selle of Miles City; four sisters: Lou Wellems, Shirley Watts, Alice Ramsey and Evelyn Carey; a brother: Orville Myran; sisters-in-law: Isabella Myran, Frances P. Ziebarth, Sadie Claus, Betty Lu Tweeten and Joan King; 13 grandchildren: Nikki (Dave) Irvin, Tammy (Brian) Dennis, Scott (Arnica) Ziebarth, Reg (Kally) Billing, Peggy (Dennis) Logan, Ben Billing, Jay (Becca) Stroh, Amy (Mike) Lohrenz, Amber (Tony) Ziebarth, Ashley (Adam) Murnion, Layne (Erin) Ziebarth, Rand Selle, Nick Selle and Jenna (Bo) Frasch; two step-grandchildren: Monica Wilson and Ryan Foreman; and 18 great-grandchildren: Jordyn, Marcus and Damon Irvin, Rylee, Cody, Christopher Dennis, Zaylee, Izak, and Kyzer Ziebarth, Joseph and Ethan Billing, Zakary Stroh, Madilyn, and Maycie Lohrenz, Kellin Murnion, Quinn Ziebarth, Kiptyn and Trevyn Frasch.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Francis; and two brothers: Wayne Myran and Glen Myran.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at 10 a.m. in Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.  Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
