Letters Policy

The Star welcomes letters to the editor from its readers expressing opinions on any issue of public interest. Due to space limitations, preference will be given to letters written by area residents or addressing local topics. No form letters, please. Letters must include the writer's name and an address and daytime phone number for verification. They should be legible and less than 500 words in length. Please limit letters to one per month. The Star reserves the right to edit letters for length, taste and possible libel. Viewpoints expressed in letters are not necessarily those of the Star.
